Barcode Quality Verification and Reports
Tiryakiler has provided barcode quality verification since 1991. We measure the QR code and barcode quality of products manufactured by GS1 member companies, according to ISO/IEC standards or enterprise-specific criteria, and issue a Barcode Measurement Report that protects both the business and its products.
A barcode that looks legible will not necessarily scan reliably on every reader. Verifying codes on time prevents cost and error risks.
Which standards do we measure against?
- ISO/IEC 15416: linear (1D) barcodes such as EAN-13
- ISO/IEC 15415: two-dimensional (2D) codes such as QR codes

What does the measurement report include?
Our sample report for a linear barcode includes the following:
- Symbology, code content, and the evaluation standard applied
- Overall quality grade (for example 4.0 / A) and pass/fail result
- Symbol contrast, edge contrast, and modulation
- Rmin/Rmax ratio, defects, and decodability values
- Left and right quiet zone measurements
- Module width, size, and bar deviation
Our verification equipment
We became the representative of REA Elektronik GmbH in 2002. We use REA devices to verify linear barcodes, and since 2011 we have measured 2D codes with the REA MLV-2D.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is barcode quality verification?
It means measuring properties of a printed barcode, such as contrast, modulation, defects, and quiet zones, with a verifier and grading them against standards. This shows in advance whether the barcode will scan reliably across the supply chain.
